Blog 5 BBG Chapter 5

Chapter 5 discusses several different methods a person could use in order to choose a topic to write about. Two elements that stood out to me as the most advantageous to use to conduct my research are creating a mind map and talking to people. A mind map is helpful because it is a way to condense a lot of thoughts in an organized manner. Talking to people is helpful because opinions and ideas from different individuals can assist in forming one's own ideas as well. For example, if the topic of my research paper happened to be a comparison between value-brand products versus name-brand, talking to people and discovering their preference between the two would be beneficial for my research.
